Mayor Michelle Wu (Boston)
“Michelle Wu became the first woman and person of color to be elected mayor of Boston, winning a pathbreaking victory that promises a new era of liberal politics in the city.” - The Washington Post, 11.03.21
When Michelle Wu won the election to become the next mayor of Boston, it was a landmark moment not only for the city, but for the nation as a whole. Wu became the first woman and first person of color to be elected mayor in Boston’s centuries-long history, as well as one of the first Asian-Americans ever elected to lead a major US city.
Wu ran for office on a sweeping and forward-thinking platform, and A|L Media’s effective media campaign focused on highlighting her positive vision for the future. On election day, she won by a landslide with nearly 64% of the vote.
